The History of Early Explorers

Early Explorers has provided high-quality early childhood education for children in the Iowa City/Coralville area for over 40 years. Originally established in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, we moved into our own facility on Greenwood Drive, located near the UIHC as Good Shepherd Center. Then in 2025, we decided to rebrand to reflect our values and mission, becoming Early Explorers.

 

Early Explorers serves approximately 60 families in our core programs and cares for children ages 6 weeks to the day before their first day in Kindergarten!

 

As a daycare licensed by the Iowa Department of Human Services, we also offer deferred tuition for children in need of special placements. All are welcome regardless of race, national origin, color, creed, religion, sex, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or associational preference.
